UW-Madison has signed a contract for online proctoring services with Examity. The contract will allow for transition to online proctored exams to address the immediate need related to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Examity provides multiple services for ensuring learning integrity and consistent with input from students the university’s contract focuses solely on “auto proctoring”. This service will be made available during spring semester 2020. UW-Madison continues to review the available technology as well as longer term needs, and will develop strategies to provide critical services to students, faculty and instructors. Implementation details and guidance for using Examity will follow in early April.
Some schools and colleges already have a proctoring solution in place and can continue to use that solution through the academic year. Those who do not already have a solution and are identifying needs for proctoring should plan on using Examity instead of engaging vendors in a separate contract.
